GateFab began life in 2011 in a small South Shields factory before becoming GateFabne Ltd in 2013 & moving to larger premises on the Stella Gill Industrial Estate, Chester-Le-Street.
I have 25 years of experience in my chosen craft.
After completing a 5 year trade apprenticeship with a respected local company that specialised in gates & railings for local authorities/builders, I moved to the Newcastle City Blacksmiths where I spent 16 enjoyable years learning new skills and applying those I already had to new & old metalwork projects around the City. These projects included gates, railings, stairs, platforms & light structures as well as blacksmithing works & upkeep or repair work on the aged wrought gates & railings in the City.
While at the City blacksmiths I continued with my education toward level 3 ONC. with 11/12 components.
I undertook many first aid, material handling, forklift and safety courses with training during this time.
I also completed NCFE level 3 to teach welding skills in the lifelong learning sector.
GateFab was born while I was employed teaching skills to others wishing a future in fabrication & welding.
GateFabne Ltd is a family run business & within the extents of the family I am able to call upon a further 85 years of combined experience in blacksmithing, fabrication, welding, design & architectural metalwork
